The Public Art Virginia Beach Foundation, Inc. was formed in Dec. 2012 to raise private dollars aimed at enhancing public spaces throughout the City with works of art.
Modeled after similar nonprofit organizations in Virginia, New York and California, the foundation’s goal is to showcase Virginia Beach as a welcoming, creative City, which takes great pride in its public spaces.
"The Wave," by Jeff Laramore, a 35-foot stainless steel sculpture inside the Laskin Road roundabout, was the foundation’s first gift of sculpture to the City, and creates a strong sense of arrival to the Resort Area. Donald Lipski's "The Canoes," a 36-foot aluminum sculpture on the pedestrian overlook of the Lesner Bridge was the foundation's second gift to the City.
Give Online
Use your credit or debit card safely and easily by donating through PayPal. Important: If you want your donation to go toward a specific sculpture project or in honor/memory of a loved one, click on “Add special instructions” on the donation review page to specify. If you skip this step, your donation will used where the Foundation decides the funds are needed.
Note: Due to online handling fees, PayPal charges a 2.89% + $0.49 convenience fee for all online gifts. You may choose to cover the fee and add this to your donation. Otherwise, PayPal will deduct this from your gift. For example, if you give a $100.00 donation, you will be given credit for a $100.00 donation, but the Foundation will receive $96.62.
