World-renowned kinetic sculptor Lin Emery created Pennant in 1989. The sculpture is a kinetic sculpture composed of stainless steel and marine aluminum and is displayed outside the front entrance of the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library.
About the Artist
Lin Emery is a world-renowned kinetic sculptor. Her sculptures inspired are by natural shapes and rely on the forces of nature, like wind and water, to set them in motion. Pennant was installed in 1989 and was crafted from highly polished stainless steel and marine aluminum. A more recent example of Emery's work, Wings, was installed in 2011 at Virginia Beach's Sandler Center for the Performing Arts.
